CALIFORNIA

Two charged: John Washlack, 41, of Coal Center, and Rhonda Hartley, 43, of California, will each by charged by California police with harassment and disorderly conduct following a disturbance Wednesday night at 1029 Pike Run Drive.


CANTON

Mother, daughter arrested: Cheryl Lee Jackson, 52, and Crystal R. Montano, 30, both of 226 Charles St., Canton, were arrested early Wednesday by state police after the mother and daughter allegedly assaulted each other at their home. Jackson reportedly came home about 4:15 a.m. and found Montano sleeping in her bed. She allegedly woke up Montano and told her to sleep elsewhere. Montano is accused of punching her mother in the face. Jackson is accused of pulling her daughter’s hair, biting her in the arm and dragging her across the floor. Both were arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of simple assault and harassment. The two were released from the Washington County jail after posting $2,500 bond. Montano was returned to the jail Thursday on a parole detainer.


CHARTIERS

Golf cart stolen: Edward Hancher of Washington told Chartiers police Wednesday that a golf cart with a blue and white roof and a Penn State emblem on the hood was stolen from 10 White Tail Drive.


SOUTH STRABANE

Theft charge: Jaya Lynn Palmer-Asbury, 19, of 1196 Maple Terrace, Washington, will be charged by South Strabane police with theft after she was reportedly caught on surveillance removing $60 from the register while working Monday at BP, Murtland Avenue. Store management told police she made a false refund for gas and pocketed the cash. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
