Police Beat Sept. 28
Tools stolen: Robert D. Beatty of 2974 S Bridge Road, Buffalo, told state police Sunday that a drill, drill bit set and two sets of wrenches were stolen from his home.
Copper, tools stolen: An employee of Killian & Sons, 557 W. Pike St., told Canonsburg police Thursday that vehicles were entered on their property. Tools valued at $12,000 to $15,000 and copper leading valued at $1,200 to $1,500 were stolen.
Drug warrant: Leann Group, 27, whose last known address was Beacon Avenue, Canton, was arraigned Thursday on two warrants obtained by state police on drug charges. Police said she sold 15 stamp bags of heroin to a confidential informant Sept. 4, 2012, in the Town and Country Mobile Home Park. She also allegedly was found with suspected marijuana when police served a search warrant Sept. 9, 2012, at her home on Beacon Avenue. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mark set bond on the drug charges at $50,000. She is currently incarcerated in Allegheny County Jail.
Two charged: Timothy Lee Pendland, 26, of 691 Cleveland Road, North Franklin Township, and Reba R. Ashton, 18, of 73 Ealy Road, West Alexander, were charged by state police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for allegedly assaulting each other Wednesday at 50 Bel Air Drive, Canton. They were arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $2,500 bond each.
Theft, receiving charges: Cody D. Jeffers, 29, of 519 W. Grant St., Houston, was charged Wednesday by Chartiers police with theft and receiving stolen property. He is accused of stealing jewelry from a home at 602 W. Pike St. and selling it at a Washington jewelry store. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Truck rolls: Randall L. Choate of Salmon, Idaho, escaped injury Saturday when his pickup truck sunk on a wet Robinson Run Road, West Finley, and slid over an embankment. The truck rolled onto its roof before coming to rest against a tree. Choate kicked out the windshield to get out of the truck.
