G. Helen Coss

Enjoyed time spent with grandchildren

G. Helen Coss, 80, of New Freeport, died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, following a recent illness.

She was born May 15, 1933, in Littleton, W.Va., a daughter of the late Austin and Leo Williams Cain.

Mrs. Coss had been a resident of New Freeport and Freeport Township, since 1964.

She was baptized in the Sand Hill Church of Christ in Garrison.

Mrs. Coss was a member, former president and secretary of New Freeport Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, where she enjoyed volunteering her assistance with events.

She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Coss, and her late husband, were co-owners and operators of the former Coss Automatic Transmission Shop in Monaca from 1972 until 1976. She was last employed as a seamstress at the former Greenway Manufacturing plant in Waynesburg.

On November 10, 1952, she married Thomas Ray Coss, who died October 2, 2007.

Surviving are two daughters, Patty A. Ashcraft and Tammy K. Coss; two sons, Thomas, husband of Mary Coss and Joseph, husband of Kathy Coss, all of New Freeport; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Sally L., wife of Dean Carter of Ravenswood, W.Va.; a brother-in-law, Mack Coss Jr., husband of Phyllis Coss of Newton Falls, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a grandchild who died in infancy; a sister, Evelyn Cain; and a brother, Rex Cain.

Friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday in Rush Funeral Home Inc. Rogersville. Public graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, in the Coss family cemetery, Freeport Township, with the Rev. Vernon K. Berdine officiating.

Helen E. Kupar Goryl

Member of Ave Maria Parish

Helen E. Kupar Goryl, 82, of Bentleyville, died Friday morning, September 27, 2013, in Washington Hospital.

She was born July 3, 1931, in Ellsworth, a daughter of Demetrius and Julia Stolnick Kupar.

Mrs. Goryl was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and a member of Ave Maria Parish.

Surviving are her husband, Stanley M. Goryl; daughters Carolyn Leveque (Ted) of Sandia Park, N.M., and Diane Goryl of Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are sisters, Ann Blagg and Mary Wylie.

Private services will be held Monday, September 30, in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., Bentleyville.

Frank A. Paul Jr.

Member of Windover Hills Church

Frank A. “Hawk” Paul Jr., 65, a lifelong resident of Library, died Saturday, September 28, 2013.

He was the beloved husband for more than 45 years of Linda; father of Angela (William) Ferrelli, Frank (Amy) Paul and Natalia (Dana) DeRenzo; and loving pappy of Talia, Marissa, Shelby, Alaina, Mia and Andrew.

Also missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Paul was a member of Windover Hills United Methodist Church, for over 40 years.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, in David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road, Route 88, Library. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Windover Hills United Methodist Church, South Park.

Elizabeth Rozanc


Elizabeth “Janet” Rozanc, 37, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 28, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

She was born July 18, 1976, in Washington Hospital, a daughter of Vallie “Butch” and Linda Bucci Rozanc, with whom she made her home.

Miss Rozanc was a graduate of Canon-McMillan Senior High School, Class of 1993.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Canonsburg.

Miss Rozanc loved spending time with her beloved nephew Drew and enjoyed her dogs Mya and Hope.

She was always ready to help people and will be dearly remembered for her beautiful smile.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Linda (Mark) Engel and Virginia O’Block, both of Strabane and a nephew, Andrew Engel.

Friends are welcome from 4 to 7:30 p.m., the time of service, Tuesday, October 1, in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P.
