Charged in fight: California police said they are filing charges of harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness against Timothy S. Audia, 21, of Ebensburg, for allegedly fighting in the 200 block of Wood Street about 10:15 p.m. Thursday.
Man robbed: James Gregorakis, owner of Snowy White, 154 W. Pike St., told borough police a man who pointed a gun at him stole a bag of money collected from machines about 12:10 a.m. Sunday. The suspect wore a hooded sweatshirt and covered his face with a shirt when he entered the business through a back door, police said.
Officer injured: Dylan M. Kalakewich, 23, of 336 Cooper Road, Charleroi, was charged by Charleroi Regional police with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, driving under the influence of alcohol, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, court records show. Kalakewich is accused of pushing officer Matthew Shaffer and injuring officer Michael Leasure’s right hand and right knee during a scuffle after his vehicle was pulled over for swerving and nearly colliding with a police cruiser on Twilight Hollow Road in Twilight about 12:45 a.m. Monday, the affidavit states. He is in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Drug arrest: Andrew Roberts, 21, of 681 McKean Ave., Donora, is charged by borough police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a firearm as a felon, possession of a firearm without a license and receiving stolen property, court records show. Police said they found a large amount of marijuana and a 9mm handgun stolen from Lucas Zelina when, acting on a tip, they went to Roberts’ residence early Sunday. He is in Washington County jail on $20,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Liquor law violation: Bower Brother’s Lounge, 550 Front St., Fredericktown, has been cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for permitting smoking May 16 and 21, and failure to post signs required by the state Clean Indoor Air Act, state police said.
Vehicles entered: A number of items were stolen from vehicles owned by Gloria Cimino of Washington and Harry Spiker of Maryland while they were parked Sunday afternoon at Washington Crown Center mall, township police said.
Couple scammed: Residents in the 200 block of East Edgewood Drive reported Sunday the theft of more than $500 after selling furniture on Craigslist, township police said. The residents sold the furniture but found the payment of $540 was bogus, police said.
Theft from vehicle: A white man, about 5-foot-11 with curly hair was seen reaching into a vehicle and stealing something while it was parked outside the home of Ron Markel, 1176 N. Main St. about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, township police said. Markel said the suspect flashed a knife stolen from the vehicle when he approached the thief near a shed and then fled toward Washington.
Vehicle damaged: Stephanie L. Stevenson of 42 Statement St., told township police about 8:45 a.m. Saturday her car was damaged by a hit-and-run driver while it was parked overnight outside her residence.
Man jailed: Richard K. Brandon, 59, of 1171 Banetown Road, Washington, is charged by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol and a string of traffic citations after he allegedly drove his vehicle into several parked vehicles on West Walnut Street near North Franklin Street about 8 p.m. Nov. 3. He is in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant and arraigned Monday before District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Attempted burglary: City police were called to the Kwik Fill on East Maiden Street Saturday around 5 a.m. when the glass breakage alarm went off. Attempted entry was made at the rear glass door, which was shattered in two places.
