J-M board votes to pay for new roofs

October 1, 2013

JEFFERSON – Jefferson-Morgan School Board Monday voted to pay $217,631 to Angelo’s Roofing and Construction Inc. of Erie to replace the roofs over the auditorium and the gymnasium at the junior-senior high school.

District architect Tom Durkin of Valentour, English, Bodnar and Howell of Mt. Lebanon, said this is a much needed project that is well overdue.

Durkin said the project will begin in the next two to three weeks and the tentative completion date is the end of November.

The roof replacements are part of a larger school renovation project that the board will consider after receiving a feasibility study from the architectural firm. The board hopes to incorporate the cost of the roof replacements into the state reimbursement request that will eventually be submitted for the overall project.

In other business, the board named Cindy Jento as the district website liaison with no compensation.
