: Police beat Oct. 17

Items stolen: Josh C. Allen, 714 Buena Vista St., Canton, told state police last week a digital camera, iPod Touch and football equipment were stolen from his unlocked vehicle.


Harassment, threat charges: Michael J. Sezawich III, 31, of 227 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Tuesday night by Charleroi Regional police for allegedly grabbing his girlfriend, Anna Palcic, by the arm and threatening to split her head open while they were at Rite Aid, Fifth Street and McKean Avenue, Charleroi. He was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of harassment and terroristic threats. He was placed in Washington County jail on $1,500 bond.


Truck crashes: Gregory Preston Sr., 46, of Follansbee, W.Va., will be charged with failure to stay in his lane after crashing his pickup truck Tuesday on Eldersville Road, Jefferson. State police said he was going east when his truck went into the westbound lane, hit four mailboxes and a utility pole. The truck came to rest, elevated on the mailbox poles, with the sheared utility pole on top of the truck, police said. He faces several traffic citations including careless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road and not having insurance.


Assault, harassment charges: Gary C. Dean, 27, of 800 Center Ave., North Charleroi, was arrested Tuesday by Charleroi Regional police after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Rochelle Reggianni, during a confrontation at their home. He reportedly flipped over a dresser in their son’s room and then reportedly grabbed her by the neck while they were in the kitchen. He was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.


One hurt: Carolyn Milligan, 56, of 123 Washington St., Washington, was injured Monday morning when her vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by J. Thomas Grable, 66, of 320 Verner Lane, South Franklin Township, on Franklin Farms Road, North Franklin police said. Milligan, who was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment, told police that her foot slipped off the brake.

Assault charge: Christopher Carruthers, 20, of 135 E. Wylie Ave., Washington, will be charged by North Franklin police with simple assault and criminal mischief after he allegedly punched Diane Efaw, 38, of 352 W. Maiden St., during a confrontation at her home. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Disorderly charge: A 17-year-old Canton Township boy will be charged with disorderly conduct by North Franklin police after allegedly shouting obscenities at Trinity High School Tuesday morning. Police said he was upset over his gym class.


Driver injured: David Cary, 25, of West College Street, Canonsburg, was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital Tuesday afternoon after crashing his vehicle on Route 519 near the Route 19 off-ramp. North Strabane police were flagged down by another motorist and found Cary in his vehicle, which landed on the driver side. The vehicle started to smoke and catch fire. Police were able to help Cary out of the vehicle before the ambulance arrived. Police said his vehicle went off the ramp around a curve, hit an embankment and went airborne over the northbound lanes of Route 519 before landing on an embankment on the southbound side and flipping. He was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital and then transferred to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Blood was drawn to determine if he was under the influence.

Club cited: The operators of VFW Post 553, 193 Alexander Ave., Strabane, North Strabane, was cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement with failure to adhere to bylaws and maintain records to conform with the provisions of the state liquor code. The violations occurred from Dec. 1 through July 23.


Critically injured: Linda A. McCracken, 65, of Scenery Hill, is in critical condition at a Pittsburgh hospital following a one-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Route 917 at Los Road, Somerset. State police said she was driving north when her vehicle went into the southbound lane striking a utility pole. Her car then rolled onto its roof and slid 25 feet. She was taken to Allegheny General Hospital.


Items stolen: Bilal Wallace of Pittsburgh told South Strabane police Tuesday that an iPod, pairs of True Religion pants, shirts and $30 in rolled coins were stolen from his unlocked vehicle while parked at Tanger Outlets near Saks Fifth Avenue.


Men charged: Joseph W. McCurry, 21, and William T. McCurry, 54, both of West Finley, will be charged with harassment after hitting and kicking each other Monday at 424 Gunn Ridge Road, West Finley, state police said. William McCurry also will be charged with criminal mischief for allegedly crashing his vehicle into the other man’s vehicle.
