Fire damaged a house in Washington late Saturday night, according to city firefighters.

Washington fire Capt. George McMullen said crews responded to the blaze at 616 Fayette St. about 9:40 p.m. and found the home’s bathroom on fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in about 15 minutes and keep the majority of the damage to the bathroom, he said.. The rest of the home sustained moderate smoke and water damage, McMullen said.

The American Red Cross of Western Pennsylvania announced it is helping two adults and two children who were inside the rental home by offering them food, clothing and housing. No one was injured in the fire, McMullen said.

McMullen said firefighters were on scene until about midnight and are continuing to investigate what caused the blaze.
