CANONSBURG

Teens charged: A 14-year-old Canonsburg girl and 14-year-old Canonsburg boy were charged by Canonsburg police with disorderly conduct and a curfew violation stemming from an incident about 1:10 a.m. Sunday on East Pike Street.


Warrant arrest: Bonnie Hadix, 57, of New Castle, was taken into custody Saturday by Canonsburg police on an Allegheny County warrant from 1999. Police located her while responding to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Reagan Avenue.


Storm drop stolen: A storm drop was reported stolen Friday on Tannehill Street, Canonsburg police said.


CANTON

Drug charges: State police said they charged Shane P. Cowan, 21, of Erie, with marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on West Chestnut Street Oct. 4.


McDONALD

Harassment charge: Bennedetto DiPietrantonio, 20, of 105 North St., McDonald, was charged by McDonald police with harassment and ethnic intimidation after leaving two messages and placing several calls. He reportedly used obscene language Saturday in complaints over parking tickets.


Assault charge: Daniel J. Saville, 27, of 3242 Millers Run Road, Cecil, was charged Monday by McDonald police with simple assault and criminal mischief after he allegedly shoved a 42-year-old McDonald woman to the ground and damaged her iPhone during a confrontation at a home on Third Street. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Valarie Costanzo.


Theft reported: An elderly woman who resides on Hill Street had a jar containing coins stolen from her home. The theft was reported Thursday by a caregiver.


NORTH BETHLEHEM

Gun stolen: James R. Bayne, 61 Dogwood Drive, North Bethlehem, told state police last week that a black Glock pistol was stolen from his unlocked vehicle.


NORTH STRABANE

Troopers assaulted: Kevin Shane Peiffer, 38, of Cabot, Butler County, was arrested early Saturday by state police at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino, North Strabane, after he allegedly assaulted two troopers as they attempted to take him into custody. Police were called to Silk’s Lounge for a report of a disorderly man. Troopers Frank Mysza and Cory Zelenak responded. Peiffer reportedly struggled with the troopers as they handcuffed him. He reportedly spat blood on the troopers after they got him into custody. He also allegedly tried to bite a third officer. The troopers and Peiffer were taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. Peiffer was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.


Driver injured: Octavia I. Nearing, 69, of 203 Blue Jay Drive, North Strabane, was injured in a three-vehicle crash about noon Saturday on Route 519 at the ramps to Interstate 79 south, North Strabane police said. She reportedly made a left turn into the path of a car driven by Christopher Vlanich, 45, of 873 Locust Ave., Washington. Her car then spun into a pickup truck driven by Jeffrey Hindmark, 24, of West Mifflin.


PETERS

Loitering, drunkenness arrests: Lucas Heasley, 33, of 633 Scenic Drive, Venetia, was arrested early Monday by Peters police on charges of loitering and prowling at night and public drunkenness after he allegedly was found hiding behind a tree near his home. He also was reportedly argumentative with police. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County Jail on $1,000 bond.


Warrant arrest: Jason Gregory Todd, 40, of Marble Drive, McMurray, was arrested Sunday by Peters police on a warrant obtained by police in Conewango Township, Warren County. Todd, formerly of Warren, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on the wrong side of the road, reckless driving and having an open bottle of vodka in his vehicle stemming from a Nov. 15 incident in which he failed to stop for a police officer. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.


ROBINSON

Drug charges: Joseph F. Lawrence, 22, of Weirton, W.Va., was arrested Friday by McDonald police on charges of possession of crack after assisting U.S. marshals during a traffic stop on Route 22 near the Bavington exit, Robinson. Lawrence was a passenger in the vehicle stopped. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.


SOMERSET

Welding leads stolen: Ronald W. Johnson of Carencro, La., told state police last week that two men in a dark purple Integra stole 200 feet of copper welding leads valued at $800 from his truck while it was parked at Avalon Motor Inn Bar and Grill, 1 Avalon Circle, Somerset.


SOUTH FRANKLIN

Burglary, theft charges: Austin Martin Stein, 25, whose last known address was 550 Hunter Lane, was arrested Saturday by state police in connection with the Oct. 22 burglary at 550 Hunter, South Franklin. Stein was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of burglary, theft and criminal mischief. Stein turned himself in to police after he reportedly burglarized his father’s home and stole fuel. He then reportedly sold the fuel to a Prosperity man. Stein was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.


SOUTH STRABANE

Theft, drug charges: Brian Keith Tipman, 42, of Cambridge, Ohio, was arrested Sunday by South Strabane police on charges of retail theft, possessing instruments of a crime and possession of narcotics. He is accused of using a razor to remove memory cards from eight packages at Walmart, Trinity Point. He also reportedly had Oxycodone and Suboxone films when he was taken into custody. Tipman was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.


Mischief charge: Sammie R. Lincoln, 261 Locust Ave., Washington, will be charged by South Strabane police with criminal mischief for allegedly cutting the tire of a vehicle owned by Jamie Mead while parked Saturday in the lot at Motel 6.


WASHINGTON

Crash shears utility pole: Driving under the influence charges are pending against Richard L. Sturgill, 56, of Ewing Street, Washington, after city police said he crashed his car into a utility pole at Canton Avenue and Gordon Alley about 4 p.m. Thursday. Police said Sturgill’s vehicle sheared the pole in half.


Car crashes into ditch: Washington police said they plan to charged Sidney Neal, 49, of 1241 S. Hewitt Ave., Canton, with driving under the influence after his car crashed into a ditch on Factory Way shortly after midnight Sunday.


Charges pending: A driving under the influence charge against Timothy Ullom, 24, of 341 McCarrell Ave., Washington, is pending after city police said his vehicle crashed into another car about 5:30 p.m. Friday. Police said he hit the car in the 10 block of East Katherine Avenue and left the scene but an officer later found him slumped behind the wheel. Police said they also found drug paraphernalia in the car.
