Staniszewski concedes Washington City Council race
A new face will be on Washington City Council next year as a two-term incumbent lost his re-election bid.
Challenger Tracie Rotunda Graham and incumbent Joe Manning cruised to big victories Tuesday night while Matt Staniszewski lost his bid for a third term on council.
Rotunda Graham, 52, was running on both the Republican and Democratic ballots, and picked up the most votes with 820 votes . Manning, 52, was close behind with 757 while running on the Democratic ticket. Staniszewski, 36, a two-term Republican, received 426 votes in the race. Meanwhile, in the Washington County controller’s race, incumbent Democrat Michael Namie of Canton Township was leading Republican Angela Carrier of Peters Township. The first results available from the elections office, with 179 of 184 precincts reporting, showed Namie with 16,364 votes to Carrier’s 11,031.
In the Washington County recorder of deeds’ race, incumbent Democrat Debbie Bardella of Speers, with 15,500 votes, was leading Republican Nancy Carr of Washington, who had 12,064 votes.
