: Police beat Nov. 23

Metal stolen: Charges are pending against Anthony Cimino, 32, of 834 W. Grant St., Houston, after Chartiers Township police said they discovered more than $43,000 in stolen metal in his vehicle. Cimino was arrested and taken to jail Tuesday on a possible parole violation and called for someone to retrieve his car. Police said they discovered two steel cylinders, valued at about $3,000, and a large clutch, valued at $40,000, inside the vehicle. Cecil Township police determined the metal was stolen from Hanco Corp., 102 Freedom Drive, Lawrence. Police said when they interviewed Cimino in jail, he confessed to the theft. Police said there is another possible suspect, because each of the stolen items weigh between 200 and 300 pounds.


One injured: An elderly Canonsburg woman was slightly injured in a three-vehicle accident at 5:50 p.m. Thursday at Waterdam and Galley roads, township police said. Chad Burkholder, 43, of 117 Highland Drive, McMurray, told police he was eastbound on Waterdam Road when a vehicle driven by Eleanor Zaricki, 89, of Moore Avenue, Canonsburg, pulled into the path of his vehicle. The impact forced Burkholder’s vehicle into another vehicle operated by Aaron James Anselm, 43. No address was listed for Anselm. Zaricki complained of a cut on her forehead and was transported to Canonsburg Hospital, where a hospital spokeswoman said she was treated and released. Anselm and Burkholder were not injured.


Theft: A tailgate was reported stolen Thursday from a GMC truck parked in the parking lot of Springhill Suites, 16 Trinity Point Drive, Washington, South Strabane police said. The truck belongs to Dominion Transmission in West Virginia.


Harassment: Malachi Simmons, 41, of Sycamore Street, Washington, was cited for harassment after Washington police said he hit another person in the face about 2:25 a.m. Thursday near Third Street and Donnan Avenue.

Theft: A digital camera and a radio cord were reported stolen from the 10 block of West Walnut Street Thursday, Washington police said.

Retail theft: A blow dryer, two curling irons and a hair straightener were reported stolen from a business in the 100 block of Beau Street, Washington police said. Surveillance video captured a man and woman putting the items into the bottom of a stroller Tuesday.
