Friendliness is important

Friendliness is important

  • December 3, 2013

I am writing in regards to recent letters to your newspaper concerning sales associates calling people “honey” or “sweetie.”

They are just trying to create a friendly atmosphere. Many last names are difficult to pronounce, and rather than mispronounce the name and offend someone, they are trained to go for the first name.

It’s very sad to me that some people are offended by it. I find it most welcoming and it makes me feel special. Friendliness is of prime importance in any walk of life. You can even call me “honey” or “sweetie.” I wouldn’t mind.
