PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Authorities in Philadelphia have arrested a suspect in the death of man reportedly shot over a pair of headphones.

Police allege the gunman is 19-year-old Arkel Garcia. It was not immediately clear if Garcia has a lawyer.

Christian Massey died on Nov. 30 after police say a man demanded his new Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, which cost at least $200.

Massey refused and was shot several times. Officers who found the 21-year-old victim say he told them about the robbery attempt before dying at a hospital.

Monday’s arrest came the same day as Massey’s funeral in west Philadelphia.

Massey graduated last summer from Marple Newtown High School. Staff members say the special education student had been a beloved member of several sports teams.
