WEIRTON, W.Va. (AP) – A Weirton man faces a murder charge after police found a woman’s body in a closet in his apartment.

Media outlets report that Leslie Arnold Jr. is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 51-year-old Tonia Garan. He also faces charges of armed robbery and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Police found Garan’s body wrapped in garbage bags in the closet on Saturday night. Officers went to Arnold’s apartment while investigating the robbery of another woman.

The state medical examiner’s office says two of Garan’s neck bones were snapped.

Garan was reported missing on Dec. 3.

Arnold was arrested Sunday at a residence in Steubenville, Ohio. Arnold is being held on $100,000 bond at the Northern Regional Jail.
