Wrestling: Macri wins 100th as C-M stay unbeaten

Dalton Macri secured the 100th career victory in his career to help Canon-McMillan to a 75-6 victory over Moon in a Section 4-A dual meet Wednesday night.

It was the seventh straight victory for the Big Macs (1-0, 7-0).

Brendan Price (113), Matt Oblock (120), and David Ainscough (220) each had a pin while defending state champion Solomon Chishko opened the dual meet at 145 with a technical fall over Luke McConaghy.

Mapletown 39, Beth-Center 33: Brandon Rimmel had a pin in the final bout to give Mapletown a 39-33 win over Beth-Center in a Section 2-A match in Class AA.

The match was tied, 33-33, heading to 126 pounds.

Colby Kincell (132), Tyler Rumble (138), Adam Hein (195), Harley Gee (220) and Zach Brown (Hvy) also had pins for the Maples (1-0, 1-0).

Matt Bowser (145), Anthony Welsh (152) and Nico Brown (182) had pins for the Bulldogs (0-1, 0-1).

Bentworth 39, West Greene 31:Bentworth won two of the final three bouts and overcame losing a team point to defeat West Greene, 39-31, in a Section 2-A.

Chad Gurdish (113), Tyler Mitchell (126), and Matt Vickless (132) had pins for Bentworth.

Doug Berdine (145) and Trevin Bedilion (Hvy) had pins for the Pioneers.

Jefferson-Morgan 78, Washington 3:Jefferson-Morgan recorded nine falls over Washington and coasted to a 78-3 victory in a Section 2-A dual meet.

John Demaske (132), Jason Miller (138), Trevor Kniha (145), Jeremy Mayfield Ryan Phillips (160), Bill Bowlen (170), Jason Perkins (182), Anthony Patterson (195) and Ian Wolfe (Hvy) each had pins for J-M.

Peters Township 75, Baldwin 3:Taking advantage of eight forfeits, Peters Township breezed to a 75-3 victory over Baldwin in a Section 2-B dual meet.

Italo Merante (138), Michael McAleavy (160), and Michael Ament (195) each had pins for the Indians.

Avella 52, South Park 28: Avella dominated the upper weights and cruised to a 52-28 victory over host South Park in Class AA Section 1-A.

Avella won the six upper weights, including first-period falls by Derek Allen (195) and Andrew Haskakis (Hvy). Luke Lloyd (126) also scored a first-period fall for the Eagles, who collected five forfeits.

Burgettstown 54, South Side Beaver 28: Burgettstown was strong in the middle and opened its Class AA Section 1-B schedule with a 54-28 victory over host South Side Beaver.

Burgettstown won five bouts by fall, including Austin Riffle at 138 pounds and Steve Koutouch (145), Jake McKee (160), Tristan Nicholson (170) and Ryan Penderville (195).
