Pa. fatal crash suspect charged with another DUI

VANDERGRIFT, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man has been charged with drunken driving while awaiting trial on charges he was driving drunk when he caused a fatal crash last year.

Twenty-seven-year-old Chad Fravel, of Apollo, was arrested early Friday by police in Vandergrift after he allegedly ran a stop sign and was found to have one-and-a-half times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

At the time of his arrest, Fravel was free on bond on vehicular homicide, drunken driving and other charges in an April 2012 crash that killed 51-year-old Robert Lytle, of Avonmore. State police say Fravel crossed the center line of a highway in Oklahoma Borough and hit Lytle’s pickup head-on.

Fravel faces a February trial in the crash. His attorney in that case, Alexander Lindsay, says he’s not yet representing him on the new charge.
