DUI charge pending: State police plan to charge Richard Kuestrick, 68, of Amity, with driving under the influence after troopers said he struck a parked car with his pickup truck in the 600 block of Waynesburg Road about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Interstate crashes: State police responded to two separate crashes less than two hours Friday afternoon on Interstate 79 north in Cecil Township near the Southpointe exit. Police said the first crash happened at 3:15 p.m. when a car driven by Mohammed Z. Alqarni, 23, of Pittsburgh, crashed into the back of a pickup truck driven by Zakery N. Forquer, 24, of Marion, W.Va., near the Southpointe exit. Neither driver was injured, nor were the three people in Alqarni’s car and one passenger in Forquer’s pickup. Police responded to a second northbound crash nearby at 4:45 p.m. when police said Autumn N. Kita, 22, of Meadow Lands, struck the rear of a car driven by John W. Conner, 43, of Bridgeville, as he slowed for traffic ahead. Neither driver was injured in that crash.

One injured in crash: State police said a driver was injured when her van went off Vista Valley Road in South Franklin Township and crashed into a fence pole Thursday morning. Police said Tara R. Denman, 41, of Washington, lost control while heading north and left the roadway shortly after 11:30 a.m. She was taken by ambulance to Washington Hospital with unspecified injuries, police said.
