Police beat Jan. 9
One-car crash: Beth E. Berry, 53, of Washington, suffered minor injuries when she lost control of her vehicle about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday while driving west on Brush Run Road, state police said. Her car traveled off the road and over an embankment, state police said.
Assault charge: Anna Fast, 30, of California, will be charged by California police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for allegedly assaulting another person Dec. 18 on Union Street. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Copper stolen: Range Resources, 3000 Town Center Boulevard, Southpointe, reported the theft of copper from a site at 38 Swihart Road, township police said. The theft was discovered Dec. 23, but was not reported until Tuesday, when the company received a value of the copper, township police said. The loss is estimated at $3,500.
Warrant served: Jordan M. Wilson-Johnson, 21, of Pittsburgh, is charged by the Washington County sheriffs’s office with giving law enforcement a false identification about 12:40 p.m. Oct. 29 when he accompanied a man being arrested in the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue, court records show. He is in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant and arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Vehicle damaged: Stefanie Dean, 53, of Charleroi, told state police the console of her vehicle was damaged Tuesday or Wednesday while parked on Rosewood Avenue, Fallowfield.
Hit-and-run: City police said Nicole Megyesy, 22, of 352 W. Maiden St., Washington, is facing a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident after the car she was driving struck several parked vehicles while she was leaving Maple Terrace about 1:30 a.m. Monday. A passenger in her car, Edwin Davis, 24, of 250 W. Hallam St., Washington, was treated for a head injury at Washington Hospital, police said.
Theft report: Patricia Neuman of Washington told city police about 2:30 p.m. Monday 40 feet of copper pipe, a heater and two grills were stolen from one of her rental units at 54 McCarrell Ave., police said.
Wanted man arrested: Robert Leroy Gunsallus, 67, of Morgantown, W.Va., was arrested Monday by state police after they learned he was wanted on a warrant obtained by the sheriff’s office in Monongalia County, W.Va., for failure to register as a sex offender. State police fire marshals were investigating a fire Monday at 830 Chartiers St. in Washington at a vacant home, where it appeared someone had been living without permission. Gunsallus came to the home and told state police he was there to retrieve items he left inside the building. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to West Virginia.
