Questioning the costs of war

  • January 8, 2014

Congratulations on your editorial, “The high cost of war,” which appeared in the Tuesday Observer-Reporter.

We are a contradictory people who love the false glories of war. We never question the cost of a war in monetary terms. We pay exorbitant prices to attend a sporting event, yet complain when our taxes are raised or teachers ask for a new contract. Now our grandchildren will have to pay for our folly.
