Businesses come and businesses go

Businesses come and businesses go

  • January 19, 2014

While we read of new businesses coming to our area, we also read of others closing. The news last week of the J.C. Penney store closing at Washington Mall comes as no surprise. While the name has been around our area for years, the store has lacked one thing – carts for shopping. Many shoppers have health problems, but carts give them the ability to shop endlessly.

J.C. Penney left Bridgeville many years ago, even though it was the only large department store in that area. Their catalogs were always welcome, especially at Christmas when the youngsters would sit for days, fingering through the pages of toys and clothes.

Stores that find themselves closing may be overlooking the conveniences that attract customers of all ages.
