A Marianna woman died Wednesday after a one-vehicle crash in North Bethlehem Township.

Joyce Elaine Emerick, 71 of Elm Avenue, was the driver and sole occupant of a sport utility vehicle when it crashed about 11:30 a.m. on Little Daniels Run Road, according to Washington County Coroner Tim Warco.

Emerick was driving the SUV when it went off the road at Mt. Lookout Lane, hit an embankment and overturned. She became unresponsive while being extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Washington Hospital, where she died.

State police are investigating and an autopsy is planned to determine the cause and manner of death.
