Medication stolen: Carleen Simpson of 14 Dinsmore Ave., Burgettstown, told McDonald police Thursday that three bottles of prescription medication were stolen from her home.


Assault, other charges: Philip R. Rice, 41, of Grindstone, will be charged by California police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for allegedly punching a patron at California Hill Gun Club after a wager and argument. When the argument became heated, Rice allegedly punched the other man in the face. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.


Drug charges: Matthew C. Hetrick, 31, of 163 Center St., Millsboro, was charged Tuesday with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia stemming from a Jan. 10 traffic stop by Centerville police at Low Hill and Maple Glenn roads, Denbo. He also was charged with improper display of a registration plate. The suspected marijuana was found under a child safety seat, police said. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Resisting, disorderly charges: Corey Alexander Hertzig, 26, of 132 Low Hill Road, Brownsville, was charged Tuesday by Centerville police with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct stemming from a Jan. 14 incident on railroad tracks off Vesta 7 and Low Hill roads. Police were called for a report of a man lying on the tracks. When police arrived, they said Hertzig got up and walked away. Police said he ignored orders to stop. When police took him into custody, they said he refused to put his hands behind his back and struggled with officers. Police said Hertzig told them he was lying on the tracks because he wanted to look at the stars. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.


Driver injured: Joseph Kausky, 36, of Wellsburg, W.Va., was injured Tuesday afternoon when his eastbound car crossed the center line on Washington Pike, Independence, and struck a westbound tractor-trailer driven by Albert Wilkes, 51, of Perryville, Mo. State police said Kausky was taken to Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital for treatment. Kausky will be cited for failure to stay in his lane.


Money stolen: LeRoy Roy of Houma, La., told Washington police Thursday that $12,000 was stolen from his backpack while he was staying at 660 Maryland Ave.

Marijuana possession: Bradley E. Walker Jr., 22, of 1660 Pierce Ave., South Strabane, was cited of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after state police said they found marijuana and two pipes in his car during a traffic stop along East Maiden Street in Washington Jan. 14. Police said they also cited a passenger, Brandon A. McCullough, 20, of 60 Oakwood Ave., Canton, with possession of drug paraphernalia.
