Police beat Feb. 3
Woman assaulted: Roy Melvin Clark, 64, of 906 Dillie Road, Prosperity, is charged by state police with simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, court records show. Clark is accused of striking Nicole Bedosky five times in the face with his fist about 8:45 p.m. Thursday at 181 Rose Ave. in Canton, police stated in the affidavit. He is in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Hit-and-run: State police said an unknown suspect driving west along Interstate 70 near the Chestnut Street exit struck the back left fender of a car driven by Gary Bails Jr., of Washington, Friday about 9:30 p.m. Bails’ vehicle spun across the center median and struck a guard rail along the left lane of I-70 eastbound. There were four passengers in the vehicle, but no one was injured. The unknown suspect kept driving West on I-70.
Mailboxes vandalized: Several people in the area of Stolze and Maple roads told state police they saw two juvenile boys damaging mailboxes Thursday about 11 p.m.
Theft: Richard Policz, of Waynesburg, reported to state police a snowblower was stolen from behind his residence on Park Avenue Friday.
Theft: Washington County Mining reported to state police that property was stolen from the company at 860 Vanceville Rd. Thursday between midnight and 8 a.m. Police said the unknown suspect ran toward Wherry Road.
