WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Borough police late Wednesday afternoon were attempting to identify the body of a man, which was found along the sidewalk on West High Street below the First Baptist Church.

Police Chief Rob Toth said police were notified of the body about 4 p.m. by two men who spotted it when they were driving by on their way to work. The road is heavily traveled and the sidewalk is often used by people walking between Waynesburg and West Waynesburg.

No further information was available Wednesday evening. Coroner Greg Rohanna was called to the scene.
