Purse stolen: Maureen Kicinski told police her purse was stolen from the front seat of her vehicle while it was parked in the driveway at 424 Ironwood Drive in Southpointe between 7 p.m. Monday and 9:52 a.m. Tuesday, township police said. The purse and wallet, valued at $500, contained credit cards, two of which were used in Pittsburgh, police said.
Man jailed: John Romantino, 50, of 606 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with felony retail theft, trespassing, drug possession and public drunkenness, court records show. Police accuse him of stealing $36 worth of merchandise from a Dollar General, 514 Fallowfield Ave., about 1 p.m. Tuesday, and having 20 doses of Clonazepam at his residence when they went there to retrieve the stolen items, the affidavit shows. He is in Washington County jail on $35,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Woman assaulted: Joseph A. Shumar, 25, of 135 Fredericktown Terrace, Fredericktown, is charged by state police with simple assault and harassment over accusations he punched and pushed his girlfriend, Dana Hiles, 21, about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in their residence, court records show. He is free on $1,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Gun stolen: Michael Iuri of East Chevalier Court, Nottingham, told state police Jan. 26 that his gun was stolen from the glove box of his unlocked vehicle.
