Police said a man shot to death his mother’s boyfriend late Wednesday night during a dispute inside the Monessen home the three of them shared.

Monessen police said Christopher L. Allhouse, 40, shot James T. Ritter, 54, with a .22-caliber handgun multiple times about 11:30 p.m. as the two argued inside their home at 126 Donner Ave.

Ritter, who was found by police outside the home, was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital, where he died about an hour later, Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said. Allhouse’s mother, Linda Craig, was not injured in the shooting, police said.

Allhouse was taken charged with homicide and arraigned by District Judge Joseph Dalfonso. He is being held without bond at the Westmoreland County jail.
