Police beat Feb. 15
Woman injured: Breanne Lynn Hadrych, 29, of Avella, was injured Thursday night when her vehicle went off the 3600 block of Route 40, Buffalo, and crashed. State police said her vehicle hit a guardrail, flipped over several times and went 75 feet over a steep embankment. Charges of driving under the influence of alcohol are pending, police said.
Two charged: Kristina N. Dedousis, 20, of Bethel Park, and Katlin Taylor King, 23, of Pittsburgh, were charged Friday by California police stemming from an incident Feb. 6. Police said they found Dedousis intoxicated in the 300 block of Third Street and she had King’s identification card, which she used to gain entry into a bar. Dedousis is charged with underage drinking and carrying a false identification card. King is charged with representation to liquor dealers that a minor is of age. She allegedly allowed Dedousis to use her identification to enter the bar.
Women charged: Jerika Marie Lopez, 22, of 59 St. Cloud St., Eighty Four, and Christina Mutchler, 20, of 104 Latimer Ave., Strabane, were charged Thursday by Canonsburg police stemming from a Sept. 12 altercation in the 200 block of South Central Avenue. Lopez is charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment. Mutchler is charged with simple assault, harassment and three counts of reckless endangerment. Charges will be sent from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Scrap stolen: A pallet jack and manure spreader wire were reported stolen Friday from a storage trailer at the Washington County Fairgrounds and Exposition Center. Chartiers police said the trailer was broken into and the items, considered scrap, were stolen. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call township police at 724-745-8030, ext. 215.
One injured: Michael Ewing, 39, of Allison Avenue, Washington, was slightly injured in a two-vehicle crash about 9 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of Henderson Avenue (Route 18). Chartiers police said Ewing and another driver, Raynor Neilsen, 33, of Donnan Avenue, Washington, were traveling north together heading to a wrestling tournament in the Avella area. Neilsen had been behind Ewing but attempted to pass him in a legal passing zone when his vehicle hit the side of Ewing’s vehicle. Ewing was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel. Their wives and children who also were in the men’s vehicles were not injured.
Charged in crash: Raquan Jenrel Ingram, 19, of Wheeling, W.Va., was charged Thursday by state police in connection with a Jan. 25 crash on Interstate 70 westbound between the Claysville and West Alexander exits, Donegal. He is charged with leaving the scene of a crash, having no insurance, failure to give information, failure to notify police and failure to stay in his lane. After making sure the other driver was not injured, police say he left. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Simple assault: Thomas Andrew Kovalak was charged with simple assault and harassment late Thursday in connection with an incident Feb. 1, according to an affidavit filed in the office of District Judge James Ellis. Kovalak, 50, of 498 Franklin Ave., Donora, was involved in an incident at his rental property at 623 Fourth St., Donora, when Donora police said he went to collect rent from a tenant. Police said Kovalak is accused of throwing items at the tenant, knocking items off her refrigerator and calling her derogatory names. He was arrested Thursday, arraigned before Ellis and released on his own recognizance.
One injured: Zachary T. Walters, 25, of Pittsburgh, was slightly injured in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday night on Morganza Road at McClelland Road. North Strabane police said Walters turned left into the path of a vehicle driven by Christy D. Heffner, 42, of 2 Kingswood Court, South Strabane, and then spun into a vehicle driven by Whitney Moschetta of 528 Potomac Drive, South Strabane, Walters will be cited for a left turn violation.
Medication stolen: Carol Schrader of 545 Pie Ridge Road, Prosperity, told South Strabane police Thursday that medication was stolen from her purse that she had left in her vehicle while it was parked in the lot at Giant Eagle, Strabane Square.
Woman charged: Jessica Ann Skolyak, 28, of Washington, was charged Monday by South Strabane police with misdemeanor retail theft after she allegedly stole items from Walmart, Trinity Point, Jan. 23. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft charge: Jason Hartzell, 34, of 3035 Wilson St., North Franklin Township, was charged Monday with theft by South Strabane police after he allegedly stole $546 from The Beer Store, 746 Locust Ave., while working there in late December and early January. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Drug and DUI charges: Logan Durell Stacher, 33, of 53 Montgomery Ave., Waynesburg, was charged by state police with DUI of alcohol, marijuana and oxycodone, as well as possession of marijuana in connection with a May 7, 2012, traffic stop on Main Street. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
DUI: Jennifer Mari Berteotti, 33, of 112 Moon Road, Washington, was charged by state police with DUI after she allegedly struck another car on Jefferson Avenue July 4, 2013. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft: Someone broke into a soda machine outside the Beer Shop on West Chestnut Street about 11:30 p.m. Thursday and drove off with the change inside.
