: Police beat Feb. 21

Assault arrest: Andrew Duncan, 18, of 1321 Lucia Drive, Canonsburg, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge David Mark on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. Duncan is accused of hitting Mark Dugan several times with a baseball bat during a Jan. 11 confrontation at Duncan’s home, Canonsburg police said. Dugan was treated for his injuries at Canonsburg Hospital. Duncan was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.


Bag stolen: Nathan Lash of McDonald told state police Feb. 14 that his work bag and respirator were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at 300 Commercial Drive, Canton. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.


PFA violation alleged: Sharon Javornicky, 45, of 1762 Route 519, Canonsburg, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday by Houston police for allegedly violating a protection-from-abuse order Nov. 6. Angelo Zaccone of 311 E. Pike St., Houston, told police he had a PFA order against her when she allegedly kicked and punched him. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.


Driver injured: Mary Amin, 68, of Linnwood Road, North Strabane, was injured when her vehicle slid on ice about 8:25 a.m. Thursday as she went around a bend on Linnwood near Industry Drive, went off the road and hit a tree, North Strabane police said. She was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of several broken bones, police said.

Woman arrested: Heidi Lynn Powers, 45, of 200 Racetrack Road, Canonsburg, was arrested Wednesday by state police at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino. Police said Powers went to the casino to get fingerprinted for a gaming license when it was determined she is wanted on a warrant in Michigan for failing to pay $33,586 in child support. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $30,000 bond.


Warrant arrest: Randolph T. Lewis, 42, of Washington, was arraigned by video Thursday before District Judge Jay Weller on a warrant obtained by South Strabane police on a charge of theft by deception. He is accused of stealing a gas grill from Walmart, Trinity Point, and returning it in exchange for a $183 gift card. Lewis already was in Washington County jail on a probation violation. Weller set bond at $5,000.


Restaurant cited: The operator of LA’s Sports Grille, 427 E. Maiden St., was cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for having gambling devices or allowing gambling May 18, May 28 and Oct. 30.

Bar cited: The operators of Comfort Lounge, 1187 Jefferson Ave., were cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for failing to operate as a bona fide restaurant between June 4 and Dec. 16 by not maintaining sufficient food items.

Missing purse: A woman reported to city police she forgot her purse Monday at Burger King on Jefferson Avenue, and an employee told her they would bring it to the police station. Police said there was no record of the purse being turned in.
