PITTSBURGH (AP) – Authorities say a Western Pennsylvania man critically injured in the explosion of his Pittsburgh-area home that doubled as a gun shop has died.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office said 69-year-old Frank Mihalovich died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at UPMC-Mercy.

Officials in Brentwood said he was burned in the Feb. 6 blast at his home, which houses Frank’s Guns. Several windows were blown out and part of the structure collapsed, and officials said the foundation of the home cracked.

Mayor Dennis Troy called. Mihalovich a “great public servant” after the blast and said he had established Brentwood Emergency Medical Service.

The county fire marshal and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the explosion.
