Drug, disorderly house charges: Rehny Little, 20, of Homestead, was charged by California police with possession of cocaine and violating the disorderly house ordinance after he was found with a bag of the suspected drug while police were answering a noise complaint at Vulcan Village early Tuesday.
Attempted break-in: Matthew Orndoff, of 511 Euclid Ave., told Canonsburg police Monday that an attempt was made to break into his home.
Fire ruled as arson: The state police fire marshal said a fire that did $500 in damage to a home at 481 Wayne St., Canton, Feb. 15 was deliberately set. Canton firefighters put out the pile of trash set on fire on the porch of the home owned by Jan Ondra of Washington.
Trespass, mischief charges: George Linneman, 43, of 424 Frye St., Monessen, was charged Monday by Charleroi Regional police with criminal trespass and criminal mischief after he was found inside a vacant home on Fallowfield Avenue sleeping next to a case of beer. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
One injured : Robb Medddings, 44, of 220 E. Grant St., Houston, was slightly injured Feb. 19 when his vehicle crashed into a utility pole at Barnickle and Pike streets, Chartiers police said.
Drug arrest: Matthew J. Cody, 18, of Hardwood Drive, Venetia, was charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and possession with intent to deliver marijuana after a traffic stop by township police Monday night. Police said they smelled marijuana and found two bags of marijuana along with other drug paraphernalia during a search of his vehicle. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $30,000 bond.
Assault, drug charges: Maurice E. Scott, of 86 N. Main St., Washington, was arrested Monday by South Strabane police after he allegedly punched Naadia Dates in the face while the two were at Fusion Japanese Steakhouse, Trinity Point. He fled before police arrived but was found behind another business. Police said he also had suspected heroin and paraphernalia. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges of simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness and possession of heroin and paraphernalia. He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Three injured: Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning on the ramp from Route 19 to Interstate 70 eastbound, South Strabane. State police said a vehicle driven by Chad Dolan, 28, of Clarksville, was stopped waiting to merge on to the highway when his vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Frank Paxton, 62 of Washington. Dolan and two passengers in his vehicle, Jeremiah Hall, 57 and Christi Patterson, 38, both of Washington, were taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Paxton was cited for a yield sign violation.
One injured: A Washington woman was injured Tuesday morning when her eastbound vehicle apparently slid on a snow-covered East Beau Street near Floral Hill Road and slid into the oncoming lane, crashing head-on into a vehicle driven by retired Washington County President Judge Thomas Gladden, who was driving west, South Strabane police said. The woman, whose identity was not immediately available, was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment. Gladden was not injured.
Two charged: Kelly C. Willard, 35, of 990 Broad St., Washington, and Noel Wayman, 45, of Pitcairn, were charged Monday by South Strabane police for allegedly stealing items from Walmart, Trinity Point, earlier this month. Willard then reportedly returned the items for gift cards. She is charged with retail theft and theft by deception. He is charged with retail theft. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
