Pa. man convicted of scamming nearly 250 seniors
NORRISTOWN – A suburban Philadelphia man has been convicted of scamming more than $700,000 from nearly 250 elderly people by preying on their health concerns and desire to remain in their own homes.
The Bucks County Courier Times said a Montgomery County jury late Wednesday convicted 54-year-old Ross Rabelow of Southampton on 756 charges stemming from the elaborate fraud scheme from 2008 to 2012.
He could be sentenced to hundreds of years in prison.
Most of the charges against Rabelow stemmed from his company American Comfort Home Care Services, which promised nonmedical home care but didn’t deliver.
Rabelow also is charged with conspiring with three others in additional scams targeting the same group of victims, primarily retired teachers who were widowed and lived alone without family nearby.
