  • March 23, 2014

A 69-year-old Canton Township man was assaulted in his home early Sunday, and the suspect fled in the victim’s pickup truck.

Howard Sibert, of the 100 block of Brook Avenue in the Town and Country mobile home park, told state police an unknown man knocked on his door about 2:30 a.m. When Sibert opened the door, he saw a man wearing a black ski mask.

The man pushed his way inside and assaulted Sibert before taking his wallet, a coin jar and the keys to Sibert’s tan 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck bearing the license plate YKG 9124.

Sibert was taken to Washington Hospital to be treated for head trauma.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
