The bats keep booming and the Big Macs keep winning games. Canon-McMillan cracked four more home runs Monday in a 16-3, five-inning victory over Mt. Lebanon in Section 4-AAAA.
Abby McCartney went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI for the Big Macs (3-0, 3-0). Ally Bellaire had a two-run blast and Olivia Lorusso and Linda Rush a solo shot. Lorusso added a triple and winning pitcher Tara Fowler a double.
Sarah Ryan tripled for Mt. Lebanon (0-3, 0-4).
• Jordan Moore hit a two-run single to help Waynesburg to a 7-2 victory over Greenup County, Ky., at the Ripken Experience at Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Winning pitcher Taylor Staley had a triple for Waynesburg (2-2) and Hannah Gibbons and Emily Luckey each hit a double.
Abby Sanders and Page Howard each had a double for Greenup County.
• Marlie Mounts went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and five RBI to power McGuffey to a 16-0 three-inning victory over Fort Cherry in a Section 2-AA game.
Sammie Weiss had a two-run triple for the Highlanders (2-1, 5-1) and Mariah McGuier had a two-run double. Meghan Shultz doubled.
Gina Lodge opened the game with the only hit for Fort Cherry (0-3, 0-4).
• Sara Jubas drove in both runs for South Fayette and Ashley Iagnemma pitched a complete game to lead to Lions past Ringgold, 2-1, in a Section 2-AAA game.
Jubas hit a solo home run in the first inning and followed that with a RBI double in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie. Iagnemma struck out 14 batters to give South Fayette (2-0, 3-0) the win. Courtney Blocher added a triple for the Lions and Celena Cantini took the loss for Ringgold (0-2, 0-2).
