Flenniken offering special progams

  • April 10, 2014

CARMICHAELS – The Flenniken Public Library is offering special programs to celebrate Lives Change at Your Library during National Library Week April 13-19.

The National Library Week programs are:

• Windows Movie Maker, 6 p.m. Monday. Learn to use Windows Movie Maker and Windows DVD Maker to transform your short video clips into full featured movies with title and credit screens, and transitions between different scenes. Call the library to sign up because there is limited space available.

• Overview of gardening at the library, 6 p.m. Tuesday. Ruth Enci will lead a discussion of the community garden at the library and how others can join us for the toil and the harvest.

• Family library scavenger hunt, 6 p.m. Wednesday. Bring your entire family to the library for a scavenger hunt. In addition to the knowledge of the library you will gain, there is a prize for successfully completing it.

• Mother Goose Olympics, 11 a.m. Saturday. Ages 2 to 8 are invited to come in and learn about nursery rhymes during the Mother Goose Olympics.

The kids get to re-enact some of the famous scenes using both their brains and their brawn.

In celebration of National Library Week, all libraries in the Greene County Library System are forgiving fines on overdue materials returned between April 13-19. This offer is good for one week only.

Library hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
