Have you heard this one yet? Three guys walk into a field …
Something amused this group surrounding a young pine, but we aren’t in on the joke. Not only don’t we know what’s funny in this week’s Mystery Photo, we don’t know who the men are, or where or when the photo was taken.
There is nothing written on the back of this print from the Observer-Reporter’s archive, so it’s not likely that the photo appeared in the newspaper. The only hint is that the man in the middle is in uniform and is wearing a patch on his left sleeve. We have a feeling the picture was taken in the late 1970s or early 1980s, but we could be wrong about that. Perhaps readers of the O-R can help solve this puzzle.
If you think you recognize these fellows or know what they were doing, email Park Burroughs, retired executive editor, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call and leave a message for him along with your telephone number at 724-222-2200, extention 2400. With a little assistance from our readers, we’ll be able to fill in the blanks and report our findings next Monday.
