Charleroi hires football coach

Donnie Millitzer, who spent last season as head coach at Gateway, was hired as the varsity football coach at Charleroi High School.

Millitzer replaced Terry Smith at Gateway after the latter left for a position at Temple University.

The Cougars were coached by Ed Jenkins, who went 4-14 in two seasons with the Cougars, officially resigned last month for undisclosed health reasons.

Charleroi went 2-7 in both seasons under Jenkins, who hoped to continue coaching if his health would allow it. After weeks of deliberation, he decided to submit his resignation to athletic director Bill Wiltz and school officials.
