Pole snaps, results in road closures

  • May 22, 2014

A pole along Interstate 70 snapped Thursday evening, closing the eastbound lane of Route 40 and the Interstate 79 northbound ramp, South Strabane police said.

The pole, which was old, gave way on its own.

Police said the area has power, and the company owning the pole was notified.

Police were unsure when the roads would reopen.
