Remember our veterans

  • May 24, 2014

I was at Washington Cemetery the other day and observed all of the American flags on the veterans’ graves. We owe these veterans so much. Because of our veterans, who kept our country free in the face of our enemies, we did not have to endure bombing and other tragedies of war.

Many of our veterans are in nursing homes and hospitals. It means a great deal to them when they have visitors. People take them everyday items they would not be able to get for themselves. It is a small way people are saying “thank you” and letting them know they are not forgotten.

Yet there are some people who do not even stand for the Pledge of Allegiance or the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

God bless all our veterans from all our wars, and God bless America.
