Police beat June 3
Charged in crash: Randy Lee Forte, 48, of Washington, was charged Monday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol during a May 18 crash at Main and Pittsburgh streets in Bentleyville. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Assault charge: Arlyn T. Conkey, 48, of 81 Reed Road, Blaine, was arrested Sunday by state police after he allegedly assaulted his wife, Mary Beth Conkey, and threatened to shoot her. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Rider injured: Todd A. Grow II, 54, of Hiller, was injured when his motorcycle struck a deer on Toll 43 in California Sunday night. State police said Grow, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.
Parked car hit: Michelle Kraushaar of 1034 Ryeland Road, Bridgeville, will be charged by Canonsburg police with DUI after she allegedly struck a parked car in an East Pike Street parking lot about 5:40 p.m. Sunday. Police said her blood-alcohol content was almost four times the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Fugitive caught: Jessica Ellen Miller, 21, of 323 Western Ave., Houston, was arraigned Saturday as a fugitive from justice after a traffic stop by Cecil police on Route 980. It was determined she is wanted on a probation violation stemming from a grand larceny charge in Henrico County, Va. She was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to Virginia.
Man jailed: Allen A. Horvath, 51, who has addresses in Charleroi and Belle Vernon, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy. Police accuse him of stealing cast-iron radiators from property owned by Barb Savasta at 212 Washington Ave. about 10:30 a.m. Thursday and later selling them for scrap in Monongahela. He is in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant and arraigned Friday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Man jailed: William R. Smith, 62, of 605 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with receiving stolen property, accused of selling a stolen lawn mower about 10:30 a.m. Thursday to a local pawn shop, court records state. Smith is in Washington County jail on $35,000 bond set Friday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Drug arrest: David James Greene, 27, who has no known address, was arrested Wednesday by Donegal police. Police said they spotted him standing in a parking lot in the 100 block of Main Street in Claysville. When they checked him, police said they found nine bags of suspected heroin. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on a charge of possession of heroin and placed in Washington County jail on $35,000 bond.
Disorderly charge: Preston F. Belcastro, 22, of 59 Donegal Ave., Claysville, was charged last week by Donegal police with disorderly conduct stemming from a May 18 disturbance he allegedly caused on Railroad Street during Pike Days. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
DUI, other charges: Harry R. Ringer Jr., 32, of 610 Enon Church Road, West Finley, was charged Thursday by Donegal police with DUI and having an open container of beer after police said they saw him driving on the wrong side of Old Brick Road near the Interstate 70 eastbound ramp May 19. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Burglary reported: Norma Lensky of Charleroi told state police Friday copper pipe was stolen from her property on Old Route 71 in Fallowfield.
One injured: Amanda Rocker, 28, of Belle Vernon, was injured Wednesday when her car crashed on Interstate 70 eastbound in Fallowfield. She was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment.
Driver injured: Ricky Struggs, 64, of Charleroi, was injured when his vehicle crashed Wednesday on Interstate 70 eastbound in Fallowfield, state police said.
Warrant arrest: Chris Luketic, 26, of 1243 Laurel Hill Road, was taken into custody Tuesday by McDonald police on a Washington County adult probation warrant. He was placed in Washington County jail.
Vehicle vandalized: Heather Brinkley of 120 S. McDonald St. told McDonald police Thursday her vehicle was vandalized. She later learned a fire extinguisher was discharged in it.
Two charged: Jennifer Massare, 23, of 128 1/2 Downer St., Monongahela, and Michael Rodriguez, 26, of 987 Thompson Ave., Donora, face charges stemming from an incident at the Hidden Treasures store, 159 W. Main St., Wednesday. Monongahela police received a report of two people who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol walking in and out of stores. Massare also allegedly stole a shirt from Hidden Treasures, and police said Rodriguez was found with Suboxone. Police said they also found them with stamp bags and paraphernalia. Massare was charged with retail theft, possession of paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Rodriguez was charged with possession of paraphernalia and a controlled substance, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Charges were filed Monday at the office of District Judge Mark Wilson.
Gun stolen: Lawrence Johnson of 116 Altamont Ave. told North Franklin police Wednesday that a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun was stolen from his vehicle.
Money stolen: A manager at Sbarro, Washington Crown Center, told North Franklin police Thursday that $109 was stolen from the register May 19.
DUI accident: Steven M. Rubosky will be charged with DUI following a two-vehicle accident at 11:54 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Bebout and Bower Hill roads, township police said. Rubosky, 25, of Windsor Street, Pittsburgh, was not injured, and neither were the other driver nor any of the passengers in the rear-end collision, police said. Officers said Rubosky appeared confused and believed he was in West Mifflin, driving on Route 51. His BAC was 0.279 percent, police said. The state presumes intoxication at 0.08 percent.
Gun stolen: William Hendershot of 146 Route 917, Somerset, told state police Sunday his Glock G-21 was stolen from his home. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.
Aggravated assault: Justin Barfied of 147 Brookside Ave. told city police he was assaulted twice late Sunday, once near his residence and later at a different address by as many as six men who were unknown to him, police said. Barfield also reported the suspects were wielding guns at one point in the confrontations, police said.
Driver injured: Harry Weaver, 64, of Scenery Hill, was injured Wednesday when his vehicle hit an embankment on Lone Pine Road near Dutch Glory Road, West Bethlehem, spun around and rolled over. State police said he was taken to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh.
Teen charged: A 17-year-old Denbo boy was charged by state police in a juvenile allegation with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief after he intentionally struck a car driven by Christina Marie Lukas, 19, of Grindstone, in the parking lot of Walmart, West Brownsville, Thursday.
Endangerment, fleeing charges: Raphael M. Dorsett, 23, of 342 Narigon Run Road, Claysville, was arraigned Monday on charges filed by McDonald police stemming from a May 14 chase that started with a traffic stop on Route 844 in West Middletown. Police said they pulled him over for speeding near Routes 844 and 231, but he sped off on Route 231. Police said they were able to track him through the vehicle’s owner. Dorsett was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless endangerment, speeding and several other traffic violations. Ward set bond at $35,000 for Dorsett, who is in Washington County jail on a bench warrant.
