Guitar stolen: Fred Kowalo, of 204 Joseph Drive, told Canonsburg police Monday that a prototype guitar given to him by a bandmate of Ozzy Osbourne was stolen from his home. He told police the guitar had a value of $5,000.
Two face charges: Jason Hilberry, 39, of Pear Street, Ellsworth, and Arthur Brian Martin, 39, of Morey Road, Fredericktown, will each be charged with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing items while working at Dean’s Water Service, 950 Jessop Place, Canton, April 30. State police said the two would steal items, hide them in the woods and then retrieve the items. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft: Five rolls of cable being used during an installation by Xerox Corp. at a construction site at 400 Woodcliff Drive, Canonsburg, were stolen between Thursday and 3 p.m. Monday, township police said. The construction site is for Rice Energy.
Cruelty to animals: Mark Conn called police after he found his cat bleeding from the mouth and with a swollen neck, township police said. Conn, of Belgium Hill Road, took the cat to the veterinarian, who discovered the cat was shot by a BB pellet and suffered a broken jaw and had metal fragments in its neck, police said. The cat is expected to survive. Police were notified at 5:14 p.m. Monday.
Dash damaged: Chantel Ardeno of Canton Township told Chartiers police Sunday that the dashboard on her vehicle was damaged while it was parked at Arden Club, 25 Seik Road.
Vehicle damaged: Mike Sweeney, of 227 N. Main St., told Chartiers police Saturday that his vehicle was damaged by vandals.
Warrant arrest: Brett Edward Folk, 42, of 209 McShane St., Canonsburg, was taken into custody on an adult probation warrant during a traffic stop Monday on School Street, McDonald police said.
Unauthorized use charge: Billy Wayne Gage Jr., 35, of Sansom Park, Texas, was arrested Monday by North Strabane police on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle after he allegedly took a van owned by his employer from the parking lot of the Double Tree Hotel, Racetrack Road, without permission Saturday. The van was later recovered. Gage was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Wallet stolen: Amanda Welch of Hickory told South Strabane police Sunday her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was working at Outback Steakhouse, Washington Road. The wallet was later found by a manager in a garbage can in the employee area but her debit cards, checkbook and identification were stolen.
Truck burned: South Strabane police said a Ford Ranger pickup truck reported stolen in Ohio was found burned Sunday on West Simmons Road.
House burglarized: Nicole Elizabeth Furlong and Amanda Raye Weinzen told Southwest Regional police Saturday that their Courtney Hill home in Union was burglarized. The burglar crawled in through a window and stole a laptop computer, collection of knives and prescription medication, Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
