Lightning strike sparks North Strabane house fire

A North Strabane Township home caught fire late Wednesday night when it was hit by a lightning strike that occurred as severe storms passed through the area.

The house at 115 Lakewood Drive caught fire about 11:30 p.m. The blaze was confined to the roof and attic, said North Strabane fire Chief Mark Grimm.

Crews were on the scene for about two hours. Grimm said the house had minor fire and water damage. No one was injured.
