A tree that fell onto a home in East Washington Monday night damaged the structure’s roof and ruptured a natural gas pipeline.

The tree fell onto 10 Wilmont Ave. about 5:40 p.m. and caused unspecified damage to the roof, but the structure appeared to be stable, borough police said.

No injuries were reported.

Crews from Columbia Gas were on scene for several hours to repair the ruptured line underneath the street.
