A 71-year-old woman died Friday in a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 70 near the south junction to Interstate 79 in South Strabane Township.

Mary L. Campbell, of Bridgeville, was the driver and only occupant of the sport utility vehicle that was traveling east and rolled over along a slight bend, coming to rest in the grassy median, Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said.

Campbell was partially ejected from the vehicle in the 12:15 p.m. accident, Warco said.

She was pronounced dead an hour later at the crash scene just west of I-79. The cause and manner of her death were pending.

Traffic was backed up in both directions on I-70, as well as along I-79 north.
