Police beat July 24
Retail theft charge: Stacey Lynn Greenawalt, 28, of Jefferson, was charged by California police with retail theft after she allegedly stole items from Dollar General, 201 Wood St., Sunday.
Saws stolen: Two saws were reported stolen Tuesday from a utility trailer of Casper Colosimo and Sons at a construction staging site at Weirich and West Wylie avenues, Canton. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
Fraud: A township resident reported at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday that three unauthorized transactions were made on a credit card for a total of $750. James Zamiska told township police the charges were made in London.
Gasoline stolen: Several gallons of gasoline were stolen from a car parked on School Hill Road, township police said. Owner Jacqueline Long reported the theft at 8:48 a.m. Sunday.
Arrested on warrant: Jesse Schoedel, 29, of 443 Fourth Ave., New Eagle, was charged by Monongahela police with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, accused of having four stamp bags of heroin during a traffic stop about 11:30 a.m. March 16 near his residence. He is in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set Tuesday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Two charged: Sean Girard, 41, of Houston, and Jessica Rae Girard, 33, of Jeannette, will be charged by state police with harassment after troopers were called to a domestic dispute on Interstate 79 southbound near the Canonsburg exit in North Strabane Township Tuesday night. Jessica Girard also will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Fraud: A resident told police Wednesday his wife attempted to purchase concert tickets online, and once the price was established, the couple was told to purchase a reloadable payment card and submit the personal identification number to the ticket seller, township police said. No tickets were received.
Attempted burglary: A witness called 911 to report that two men and one woman were loading steel and metal into the back of a pickup truck about 11 p.m. Tuesday from a site in the 500 block of Henderson Avenue. The witness told 911 the three suspects fled. City police located the truck but could not find the suspects.
Bicycle stolen: A bicycle was stolen between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday from a backyard in the 1200 block of Allison Avenue.
Door damaged: A couple reported to city police that they heard loud bangs on the front door of their Gibson Avenue residence about 2 a.m. Tuesday. City police said there was damage to the front door, but it appeared no entry was made.
Assault charge: Shelby Whitlock, 20, of Washington, was charged by city police with simple assault for allegedly punching and kicking Susan McMasters June 19 in the 800 block of Ewing Street. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
