  • August 9, 2014

A Buffalo Township man was killed early Saturday after being ejected from his off-road vehicle on Route 221.

James S. Beatty, 28, of Memory Lane, was traveling south about 2 a.m. near Pleasant Valley Road, Buffalo Township, when he lost control of his utility terrain vehicle and traveled up an embankment before rolling several times, according to Washington County Coroner S. Timothy Warco. He was not wearing a seat belt or helmet.

Beatty, who was the sole occupant of the Polaris RZR UTV, was pronounced dead at 2:10 a.m.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors, according to state police, who are investigating the accident.

Taylorstown Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance and Chair Service assisted.
