ATLANTIC, Iowa (AP) – A motorcyclist from Pittsburgh died in a freak accident on Interstate 80 near Atlantic in western Iowa.

The Council Bluffs Nonpareil reports a wheel from a trailer being pulled by a westbound pickup came loose, bounced into the eastbound lanes of the interstate and hit the 39-year-old motorcyclist Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say the wheel hit Andrew Engle. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
