Police Beat Sept. 3
Lattice damaged: The lattice at Lady Washington’s Bears, 225 W. Pike St., was damaged Monday, Canonsburg police said.
Theft charges: David West, 31, of 515 Boone Ave., Strabane, will be charged by Canonsburg police with theft for allegedly stealing an LCD television, cellphone and PlayStation from Jerrel Markovich, 908 Second St., Monday. Markovich told police he saw West stealing the game player and getting in a purple car. The other items were stolen from the house overnight. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
DUI charge: Alex Frank Heiskell, 24, of 206 Center Church Road, McMurray, will be charged by Canonsburg police with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia after witnesses told officers they followed him Sunday on Route 980 as he drove in the wrong lane, running vehicles off the road. Police who stopped Heiskell said his blood-alcohol content was more than 2 1/2 times the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Door, monitor broken: Anthony Concilio of 520 Moore Ave. told Canonsburg police Friday his rear sliding-glass door and computer monitor were broken with what appeared to be a piece of rebar.
Flight, escape charges: Donald L. Mitchell, 34, of 604 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Saturday by Charleroi Regional police on a warrant stemming from an Aug. 10 incident in the 600 block of Fallowfield Avenue. Police responded to a vehicle that appeared to have been involved in a crash. When Mitchell approached, police said he would not provide them with any information, walked into his apartment and refused to answer the door. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson on charges of flight to avoid apprehension, escape, driving under suspension and failure to give information. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Assault, disorderly charges: Jessie Roger Clendenen, 29, of 514 Fifth St., North Charleroi, was arrested Sunday by Charleroi Regional police for allegedly pushing Sherie Dreyer to the ground and slamming her against the pavement outside 913 Prospect Ave. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Clendenen was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Paraphernalia, drunkenness charges: Ryan M. Sweeney, 34, of 1254 Delfield Drive, Bethel Park, was arrested Monday by Monongahela police on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for allegedly creating disturbances outside a bar on Route 88. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
One injured: Lilaben Lodaliya, 54, of Maple Ridge Drive, Canonsburg, was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital following a two-vehicle accident at 10:04 p.m. Friday on West McMurray Road. Township police said Dale A. Arnold Jr., 29, of Norma Drive, Baldwin, told officers he was driving east in the 200 block of West McMurray Road when he crossed the center line and his vehicle struck Lodaliya’s westbound vehicle nearly head-on. Police said Arnold admitted to drinking alcohol and failed field sobriety tests, and they said his blood-alcohol content was 0.20 percent. The state presumes intoxication at 0.08 percent. Arnold was not injured.
Harassment charge: A resident of Woods Lane was cited for harassment following an incident in her yard involving a tree-trimming company, township police said. Lisa Grubbs, 62, of Woods Lane became upset when two lilac bushes in her rear yard were cut down by Asplundh Tree Co., police said of the incident at 11:08 a.m. Friday. The employee told officers Grubbs poked him in the chest and punched him in the right shoulder. He did not require medical attention. Grubbs, police said, admitted to pushing the man on the shoulder. The tree service employees agreed to keep off Grubbs’ property, police said.
Tire damaged: Ivan Ullom of 931 Maple Ave. told South Strabane police Sunday that the lug nuts on one of the wheels on his vehicle were loosened by vandals, and when he drove the vehicle, it damaged the wheel.
Trespass reported: A 43-year-old woman who lives on Stone Church Road told Southwest Regional police Sunday afternoon a man tried to enter her home through a bedroom window. He was white, in his late 20s with brown hair, a beard and a mustache. He wore camouflage pants and fled toward Finleyville-Elrama Road. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
Robbery, theft charges: Scott M. Jordan, 30, of 950 Bruce St., Washington, was arrested Monday night by Washington police on charges of robbery and theft for allegedly stealing $1.88 from Ryan Santee of Washington while the two were in the lot of Family Dollar, 101 E. Wylie Ave. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Drug charges: Dana May Keller, 34, of 471 Third St., Washington, was charged by state police with possessing drug paraphernalia, providing false identification to police and disorderly conduct after police allegedly found Keller with a heroin cooking spoon, stamp bag with residue and a needle while sitting in the stairwell of a closed business at 33 W. Chestnut St. July 21. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Drug charges: Warren Maurice Sadler, 50, of 36 Murtland Ave., Washington, was charged by state police with drug and paraphernalia possession during a traffic stop on East Chestnut Street Oct. 1. Police said Sadler, a passenger in the vehicle, had 5.54 grams of cocaine under his seat and a marijuana cigarette on the floor where he was sitting. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Drug charges: Jeffrey Owen Crompton, 25, of 455 Bruce St., Washington, was charged by state police with possessing drugs and paraphernalia, driving under the influence and driving while operating privileges were suspended after he was pulled over for a traffic stop about 9:15 p.m. Aug. 9 at Berthel and Jefferson avenues. Police said a blood test showed Crompton was driving under the influence of marijuana and oxycodone, and police said they found a plastic bag with marijuana, a smoking pipe and a pack of rolling papers in the center console of Crompton’s vehicle. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Simple assault, harassment charges: Ledean Maurice Williams, 34, of 454 W. Main St., Washington, was charged by city police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly slapping his girlfriend, Shaina Glendenning, several times and holding her down about 1:15 p.m. July 13 at his residence. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Harassment charge: Derrick Lowery, 22, of 426 E. Wheeling St., Washington, was charged July 7 by city police with harassment for allegedly following and sending threatening text messages to Choral Tharp of Washington and threatening her boyfriend. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Assault attempt alleged: Demoreaze Betts, 21, of 1013 Henry St., Langeloth, was charged by city police with attempted simple assault for allegedly pushing Rateesha Porter to the ground about 10:30 p.m. June 23 at her Jollick Manor residence. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Drug charge: Charles Jackson, 49, of 536 N. Fairmont St., Pittsburgh, was charged by city police with drug possession and driving while operating privileges were suspended after he was stopped for a burned-out brake light July 5 on Wilson Avenue. Police said Jackson had a bundle of heroin under his ashtray. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Drug charges: Cody Watazychyn, 20, of 673 Castile Ridge Road, Waynesburg, and Christopher Devore, 19, of 1535 Sixth St., Waynesburg, were charged by city police with drug and paraphernalia possession for allegedly having 12 bags of heroin, collectively, in a vehicle while parked in the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue about 11:50 p.m. Monday. Police said they also found four hypodermic needles, two metal spoons and eight empty stamp bags in the car. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Weapon at school: Marcellus Crooks, 18, of 28 Highland Ave., Washington, was charged by city police with possession of a weapon on school property and disorderly conduct for allegedly bringing a BB gun onto school grounds at Washington High School about 3:10 p.m. Friday. Police said Crooks tried to hide the gun in weeds along Berthel Avenue. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft: Joshua Zasada reported to city police that various tools valued at $1,000 were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in either the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue or the 500 block of South Main Street between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday.
Theft: Shawn Stuckey reported to city police his wallet was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the 300 block of Allison Avenue between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 11:30 a.m. Monday.
