Robert K. Coffman

U.S. Army veteran

Robert K. “Bobcat” Coffman of Peters Township died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at age 81.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Lou Enrietto Coffman; and father of Catherine (Ken) Boyle, Louis, John (Darlene) and Joseph (Kathy) Enrietto, Byron K. ( Barbara) Coffman and the late Tom Coffman.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Coffman was a corporal in the U.S Army during the Korean conflict.

He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge in Uniontown.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, February 11, in David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road, Route 88, Library. There will be a private interment in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.

Kristine Ann Davis

Children’s Hospital senior staff volunteer

Kristine Ann Davis, 58, of Bethel Park, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was the beloved daughter of Agnes P. Davis and the late Stanley T. Davis; loving sister of Mark S. Davis; and cousin of Patty Myrgo.

Ms. Davis graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Robert Morris University in 1975 and a licensed practical nurse degree from Allegheny County Community College in 1983. She worked for 30 years as a corporate accountant for First Transit and served as a senior staff volunteer at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC for 20 years. 

She was an angel to all and loved by everyone who knew her. Her kindness will live in our hearts forever. 

She leaves behind many friends, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She also leaves her dog, Gracie. 

Friends were received Thursday in Paul L. Henney Memorial Chapel, Bethel Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday, February 10, in St. Valentine Church, Bethel Park. Everyone please meet at the church.

Dominic Benedetto Del Corso Jr.

Employee of Aramark

Dominic Benedetto Del Corso Jr., 75, of Canonsburg, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell in Burlington, N.C.

Mr. Del Corso moved 16 years ago to Elon, N.C., where he had been an employee of Aramark at Elon University until 2011.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; four children, Dominic Del Corso III, Deanne Huber, David Del Corso and Danelle Del Corso; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

There will be no funeral service. The family is asking, in lieu of flowers or gifts, please send a donation to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215, where he spent his last weeks in complete comfort surrounding by the most caring staff.

Bettie Rose Jolley Dillie

Dairy farmer known as loving Christian woman

Bettie Rose Jolley Dillie, 87, of West Finley Township, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 9, 2012.

She was born June 25, 1924, in South Franklin Township, daughter of Charles B. Jolley and Fannie Porter Jolley.

Mrs. Dillie attended Windy Gap Presbyterian Church, West Finley, and was a member of the former Wheeling Hill Presbyterian Church.

She loved square dancing, playing table games and being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and all small children.

Mrs. Dillie was known and loved by all her neighbors and everyone who knew her as a loving Christian woman.

She was a housewife and partner in dairy farming with her husband of 61 years.

On December 26, 1940, in Oakland, Md., she married Cletus Donald Dillie. Her husband passed away January 13, 2001.

Surviving are a son, William H. Dillie and wife Kay; two daughters, Mrs. E. Francis Kerr and husband William and Mrs. Bonnie L. Wagers and husband Lee, both of West Finley Township; a brother, John Jolley of Washington; a sister, Louise Whitten of Boca Raton, Fla.; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a son, Donald Dillie, who died in infancy; three brothers, Gaylord, Harry and William Jolley; and six sisters, Bertha Brackingham, Velma Sprowls, Mary Fordyce and Helen, Virginia and Edna Jolley.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Michael H. Heinrich Funeral Home, 219 Main Street, Claysville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 13, with Pastor George Crawford officiating. Margaret Martin Murphy

Served in U.S. Army Nurse Corps in WWII

Margaret “Jean” Martin Murphy, 88, of McMurray, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 8, 2012.  

She was the wife of the late William J. Murphy; mother of Barbara (Butch) Volle and the late William J. (survived by wife Donna) Murphy Jr.; grandmother of Billy and Patrick Murphy and Shawn, Todd and Amy Volle; great-grandmother of Justin, Madison, Ryleigh, Mya and Hayden Volle; cousin of Susan Barr; sister-in-law of Bud (Betty) Murphy; and aunt of George and Peggy Murphy.  

Mrs. Murphy graduated from the Washington Hospital School of Nursing and served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in World War II.

She was loved by family and friends and will be missed.  

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, where a service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11. Irma K. Grinnage Nuzum

Waynesburg housewife enjoyed traveling, reading

Irma K. Grinnage Nuzum, 86, of Waynesburg, died at 7:45 p.m.  Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.

She was born Monday, June 29, 1925, in West Finley Township, daughter of the late Henry C. Grinnage and Mary M. Fields Grinnage.

Mrs. Nuzum was a housewife and enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading and crafts.

Her husband of 30 years, Clyde O. Nuzum, whom she marriedAugust 8, 1958, died June 16, 1988.

Surviving are a sister, Opal Grinnage of Claysville, and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three sisters, Thelma G. Grinnage, Mabel Evans and Wilma Orum, and a brother, Areligh Grinnage.

Vicki, his wife, was misspelled.

He was a 1977 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School and enjoyed  bowling, baseball, fishing and the outdoors. He loved most spending time with his family. Mr. Pinkney was an extreme  animal lover with a kind heart for all living things. He also was a car enthusiast and enjoyed working on cars with his son.

Kenneth M. Seal

Monongahela Cemetery retiree, WWII veteran

Kenneth M. Seal, 90, of Monongahela, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, in Four Oaks Personal Care Home.

He was born April 15, 1921, in North Charleroi, son of the late Edward and Nora Dickey Seal.

Mr. Seal was a graduate of Monongahela High School, Class of 1939. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II in Southern Philippines, New Guinea and Luzon, with the 38th Infantry Division. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and the Good Conduct Medal.

In 1951, he was employed as a maintenance worker at Monongahela Cemetery until 1973. He then became the superintendent of the cemetery until his retirement in 1988. From 1989 to 2008, he served on the Monongahela Cemetery board of incorporators.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, American Legion Frank Downer Post 302, Veterans of Foreign Wars Sutman Yohe Post 1409, all of Monongahela, and New Eagle Chapter of AARP.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Kirsch Seal, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage November 26, 2011; a daughter, Donna Bozic of Monongahela; two granddaughters, Lorie and husband William Hill of Bluffton, S.C., and Sherri Ramsey of Tallahassee, Fla.; six great-grandchildren, Bridgett and Barton Hill, Chelsea, Mitchell, Carrigan and Maximus Ramsey; and many loving nieces and nephews, especially his niece, Cheryl Strong.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Blanche Anders, Ruth Brusted, Rebecca Burnsworth and Mabel Frere; and two brothers, Russell and James Seal.

 Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 11, in Grace Lutheran Church, Monongahela, with the Rev. Bob Schaefer officiating. Juanita E. Sensky

Caldwell’s Department Store elevator operator

Juanita E. Sensky, 88, of Washington, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, in Washington Hospital, following two years of illness.

She was born September 4, 1923, in Washington, daughter of William and Kate Gallagher Gorby.

For 23 years, she worked in the Caldwell’s Department Store as the elevator operator.

She was an avid reader and loved watching sports; she was a fan of the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.

Surviving are her daughter, Jacqueline (Don) Liberatore of Eighty Four; two sisters, Margaret Lindsay of Washington and Sylvia Altieri of Meadow Lands; four grandchildren, Rick Sensky, Lisa Liberatore Fleissner, Diane Liberatore Tabak and Jeremi Sensky; six great-grandchildren, Jake Bayne, Heaven Lee Sensky, Bella Tabak, Jackie Fleissner, Maria Tabak and Gianna Tabak; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Steve and Dennis Sensky; two brothers, Francis and William Gorby; a sister, Lauretta Henry; and her former husband, Steve Sensky.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation. A committal service will be held in the Washington Cemetery chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11, with Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating.

Those wishing to attend should gather at 9:45 a.m. at the main entrance of the cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice.

C. Jane Titus

WWII veteran retired from Temple University

C. Jane Titus, 96, of Pittsburgh, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in Fair Oaks Personal Care Home, Pittsburgh.

She was born December 15, 1915, in Jefferson, daughter of the late Dr. Scott J. and Maude Dulany Titus.

Ms. Titus was a 1934 graduate of Jefferson Township High School and had graduated from Waynesburg College. She had gone on to receive her master’s degree in history from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in library science from Carnegie Tech.

Ms. Titus taught school at Claysville High School, Jefferson High School and Penn State-Fayette before going into the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Upon her return, she went into library administration at Enoch Pratt Public Library in Baltimore, Md., Carnegie Library, University of Cincinnati and retired from Temple University.

She was a charter member of Filer-Sadlek American Legion Post 954 Auxiliary of Jefferson.

She was Protestant.

Surviving are a brother, John E. Titus of Jefferson; two nieces, Cyndee Scott and husband Ken of Mars and Jeanne Hockenberry and husband Dave of Carmichaels; two great-nieces, Rachel Hockenberry and Tori Scott; and a great-great-nephew, Jayden Kerley.

Deceased are two sisters, Ruth J. Titus and Marguerite Titus Brewer, and a brother, Robert E. Titus.

A gathering of friends will be received from 4 to 5 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, February 11, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.

Homemaker worked at Rungo’s, Hickson’s

Betty Louise Torboli, 70, of Washington, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born September 19, 1941, in Hickory, daughter of Albert William and Rose Florence Clemens Russell.

Mrs. Torboli was a graduate of Washington High School and attended North Buffalo United Presbyterian Church.

She was a homemaker and had worked at Rungo’s Market and Hickson’s Office Supply.

Mrs. Torboli enjoyed music, gardening, camping and spending time with her family and recently was happy to become a great-grandmother.

On January 6, 1962, she married  David Paul Torboli Sr., who survives.

Also surviving are a son, David P. (Kimberly) Torboli Jr., and a daughter, Deborah A. Torboli, both of Washington; three brothers, Charles (Pam) Russell and Harold (Pam) Russell, both of Washington, and Howard (LuAnn) Russell of Canonsburg; two sisters, Lois (Robert) Weaver and Rose “Darlene” (Wayne) Elliott, both of Washington; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Benjamin) Meighen, Anthony Torboli and Randall Torboli; and a great-grandchild, Evelyn Marie Meighen.

Deceased are two brothers, Albert and Gaylord Russell, and two sisters, Florence Seifert and Clara Turk.

Avella homemaker

Carole Mae Weiss, 75, of Avella, died Wednesday, February 8,  2012, in Washington Hospital.

She was born August 16, 1936, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the  late William E. and Mildred Kneiling Lewis.

Mrs. Weiss was a homemaker who enjoyed league bowling, ceramics, bingo, gardening and playing cards.

She was a member of Taylorstown Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, Taylorstown Fire Department Auxiliary and Taylorstown Legion Auxiliary.

On May 29, 1953, she married George Edward Weiss Jr., who  survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Glenn Weiss, Gary (Joyce) Weiss, Michael (Judy) Weiss, Scott (Paula) Weiss and Douglas (Laurie) Weiss; a daughter, Dianne (Jett) Sanner; nine grandchildren, Lisa,  Bryan, Christopher, Danielle, Matthew, Nicole, Jared, Cassandra and Samantha; and a great-grandchild, Levi.

Deceased is a brother, William C. Lewis.
