Tiedy - 71 years

Raymond and Sara McCready Tiedy of Canonsburg celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary quietly with family.

The couple were married January 28, 1939, in Canonsburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Tiedy are the parents of four children, Karen (Robert) Ream of The Villages, Fla., Terry (the late Elmer) Cook of Canonsburg, Bonnie (Joseph) Gavlak of Upper St. Clair and Susan (John) Tiedy-Stevenson of Frederick, Md.

They have eight grandchildren, Gretchen, David, Elizabeth, Sarah, Matthew, Lauren, Susan and Jonathan; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Tiedy retired from Prudential Insurance Co. and has been a longtime hunter, fisherman and clay and trap shooter.

Mrs. Tiedy retired from Forbes Steel and Howard Hanna. She is an avid bridge player, reader and active member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church.
