PITTSBURGH - Duquesne University sophomore guard B.J. Monteiro is facing charges in his native Connecticut that resulted from the theft of electronics and $1,400 in cash at an Aug. 7 party.
Monteiro and two others, including one juvenile, turned themselves into police in Torrington, Conn., over the weekend and were charged with third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. They are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 13.
Duquesne officials are investigating the incident.

Monteiro, 19, is the career scoring leader with 1,833 points at Crosby High School in Waterbury. He was the Connecticut high school player of the year in 2008.
