Clarksville man accused of firing shots toward ATVs

This article has been read 2159 times.

A Greene County man is accused of firing two shots from a handgun in the direction of four all-terrain vehicles whose riders he was chasing off his property Sunday.

Kenneth G. Ashcraft, 50, of Valley View Drive, Clarksville, is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and harassment, court records show.

State police said he placed Donald Sommovilla, David Ables, Stephen Pierce and James Crawford in danger when he fired the shots while chasing them in his pickup truck about 3:30 p.m.

Ashcraft later told police he fired the shots into the air. He chased them to a field off Piper Road near Marianna, where the four scattered and later called police after determining no one was injured, police stated in the affidavit.

The Law : 11/10/2009
Perhaps, conifscating of the four ATV's for one year and (?) hours of public service. Next anger management and (?) hours of public service for the LAND OWNER. As you may note, JUSTICE is BLIND and the CRIMINALS HAVE MORE RIGHTS than the resident.

Disregard for property : 11/11/2009
The reason why individuals disregard property ownership, is because they have learned this behavior by living in an area controlled by major energy interest that for a century or so have totally disregarded the residents of southwest PA. The treaspassers are only repeating what they have lived with and seen politically at the local and state level.

Stay off other peoples property : 11/12/2009
So the guy should not have fired but he is probley fed up with people trespassing on his property. We have the same problem and even when we post people don't care. Don't buy your kids these toys if you don't own the property for them to ride. Teach them to be respectiful of other peoples property.
